Dr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah is a distinguished educationist, TVET specialist, academic leader, researcher, and policy expert with more than three decades of exceptional experience in educational planning, management, technical and vocational education, and institutional development. He holds a Ph.D. in Education (Planning and Management in Education) with specialization in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) from the University Institute of Education and Research, University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi, along with a Master in Technology Education (M.T.E.) from the Institute of Education and Research, University of the Punjab, Lahore.

Dr. Shah retired as Additional Director General, Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), Government of the Punjab, after serving in several prestigious leadership positions, including Director General (Operations), Director General (Academics), Director Research & Development, and Principal, Government College of Technology, Faisalabad. Throughout his distinguished career, he has played a transformative role in strengthening Pakistan’s TVET sector through strategic planning, policy formulation, curriculum innovation, quality assurance, institutional reforms, and human resource development.

A nationally recognized authority in Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A), Dr. Shah is a National Certified Assessor, DACUM Facilitator, Curriculum Development Expert, and Accreditation Assessor certified by NAVTTC and international TVET development partners. He has led the development of competency standards, competency-based curricula, assessment packages, teaching-learning materials, and national qualification frameworks, significantly contributing to the modernization of Pakistan’s technical education system.

Dr. Shah has successfully directed and managed several high-impact national and international development initiatives, including projects funded by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), GIZ (Germany), and KfW Development Bank (Germany). His extensive international exposure includes advanced professional training in Germany, Belgium, Japan, Nepal, and the Philippines, where he studied global best practices in TVET, quality assurance, accreditation, curriculum development, and educational leadership.

An accomplished academic, Dr. Shah is an HEC-approved M.Phil. and Ph.D. supervisor, has served as a Tutor at Allama Iqbal Open University for over thirty years, and has been a Visiting Professor at the University of the Punjab and Superior University Lahore. His expertise extends to educational research, academic quality assurance, institutional governance, and faculty development.

Dr. Shah has served on numerous prestigious national bodies, including the Syndicate and Senate of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, the Board of Governors of the Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE), multiple Boards of Studies, Quality Assurance Committees, Sector Skills Councils, and the editorial boards of several international research journals. His professional contributions continue to influence educational policy, TVET reforms, curriculum excellence, and workforce development across Pakistan.
